A LITTLE HISTORY. A LOT OF HEART.

In May of 2017, Limelight Studio began as a small, unique, and cozy hair studio just off Main Street in Danielson. What started as a vision for a different kind of salon experience quickly became something much more meaningful to me — a place where creativity, individuality, wellness, and genuine connection could all exist together.

In 2018, I became the sole owner of Limelight and continued shaping it into something more. For a time, that included a yoga space, and later, a small retail shop that grew alongside the salon. Each chapter taught me something new about what I wanted Limelight to be — and, perhaps more importantly, what I wanted it to feel like.

Throughout all of those changes, one thing remained constant: I wanted to do things differently.

I’ve always been drawn to the unconventional. I love working with people who want to express themselves in ways that feel authentic to who they are, and I’ve never believed that beauty has to fit neatly into a box. My work with dreadlocks has become a particularly meaningful part of my career, and I’ve developed a deep appreciation for working with hair in ways that honor its natural texture, movement, and individuality.

I’m also passionate about energy work and reiki, and I love incorporating that intention into my space and services. To me, hair and wellness have always felt naturally connected — sometimes a little time in the chair can be about more than just changing your hair. It can be a chance to reset, reconnect, and leave feeling a little lighter.

That same philosophy influences the products and color work I choose. I gravitate toward more natural, thoughtful approaches to hair color, along with products from small makers and brands that align with my values. I consider not just whether something works, but where it comes from, who it supports, what goes into it, and how it impacts our bodies and our planet.

Most importantly, I’m passionate about creating an experience that feels personal. Hair appointments can be a place to talk, laugh, process life, try something new, or simply sit quietly and take a breath. I feel incredibly lucky that my work allows me to connect with people in that way.

Today, Limelight is an independent space within FERN, a shared environment created by Rhiannon and myself around the things we believe make a space feel good to be in: connection, creativity, authenticity, wellness, and community.

Limelight remains distinctly mine, while FERN gives me a place to be part of something bigger without losing the individuality that has always been at the heart of my work.

For me, it feels like a natural evolution of what Limelight has always been.

Limelight still represents the things that have guided me from the beginning: creativity, individuality, curiosity, connection, and a willingness to do things a little differently.

After nearly a decade, I’ve learned that the most important part of Limelight was never the walls, the furniture, or even the hair.

It has always been the people who filled the space.
